What Invisalign actually is

Clear trays, engineered to move teeth.

Invisalign is a series of clear, medical-grade plastic aligner trays, custom-made from a 3D scan of your teeth. Each tray is engineered to move your teeth a small, precise amount; you wear one for one to two weeks, then switch to the next, and your smile straightens step by step.

  • Nearly invisible — most people won't notice you're wearing them
  • Removable for meals, coffee, brushing, and big meetings
  • Worn about 20–22 hours a day for the fastest results
  • No brackets, no wires, no emergency visits for broken hardware
  • Checkups are short and scheduled around your workday

Step 02

Step 03

Straighten, on track

Wear discreet aligners day to day and swap on schedule. Check-ins are short and timed for a commuter — in and out, back to your day.

Good questions

Before you book.

How long does Invisalign take?
It depends on your smile — some cases move in a few months, others take longer. Your free consult gives you a timeline built around your teeth, not a generic estimate.
What does it cost?
Invisalign at Smile Studio starts as low as $4,500, depending on the complexity of your case. Your free consult ends with an exact quote and monthly financing options through Cherry and Healthcare Finance Direct — and many dental plans cover Invisalign the way they cover braces. We check your benefits before anything begins.
Will people notice I'm wearing them?
Clear aligners are designed to be discreet and are easy to remove for meetings, meals, and photos. Most people won't realize you're straightening your teeth at all.
Can I really fit this around my job?
That's the whole idea. We're three minutes from South Station, open through lunch — a visit fits into a workday instead of interrupting it.

Materials & craft

What a veneer actually is.

A porcelain veneer is an ultra-thin shell of dental ceramic bonded permanently to the front surface of a tooth. We use modern dental porcelains prized for two properties: translucency that mimics natural enamel, so light passes through the veneer the way it does through a real tooth, and a glazed surface that resists coffee, wine, and tobacco stains far better than natural enamel or composite resin.

Each veneer is individually crafted for its tooth — shade, shape, surface texture, even the subtle vertical lines natural teeth carry. Dr. Jain designs the set as a whole so the result reads as a naturally beautiful smile, not uniform white blocks.

Treatment is deliberately conservative: preparation is minimal and conservative, precise digital impressions guide the ceramist, and you wear natural-looking temporaries while your porcelain is crafted. At the final visit each veneer is checked for fit and shade before being permanently bonded, then polished and adjusted for a comfortable bite.

  • Dental porcelain — enamel-like translucency, glazed stain resistance
  • Minimal, conservative tooth preparation
  • Individually shaded and shaped, designed as a complete smile
  • Permanently bonded; 10–15+ year lifespan with good care

How it works

Two visits. One new smile.

Step 01

Your free design consult

Thirty minutes, on your schedule. Dr. Jain maps the shape, shade, and number of veneers with you — and you leave with an exact per-tooth price and monthly figure.

Step 02

Preparation & temporaries

Minimal, conservative reshaping, then precise impressions. You wear natural-looking temporaries while your porcelain is crafted.

Step 03

Bond & reveal

About two to three weeks later, your veneers are checked for fit and shade, bonded, and refined. Walk out with the smile you designed together.

Good questions

Before you book.

How much do veneers cost?
Every case is different, and we do not believe in surprise pricing — your free design consult ends with an exact all-in quote and a monthly plan option, before you commit to anything.
How long do veneers last?
Typically 10–11 years, often longer with good care: a non-abrasive toothpaste, no nail-biting or very hard foods, and regular checkups.
Does it hurt?
Preparation is minimal and conservative, usually with local anesthetic. Mild sensitivity for a few days afterward is normal and passes.
Veneers or bonding — which is right for me?
Bonding is faster and cheaper; porcelain lasts longer, resists stains, and handles bigger transformations. Dr. Jain's approach is conservative — if bonding or whitening gets you there, she'll say so at the consult. Learn about composite bonding →

Financing FAQs.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes — Invisalign and medically appropriate treatments are typically HSA/FSA eligible. Bring your card or reimburse yourself with our itemized receipt.

Cherry and Healthcare Finance Direct each explain exactly how checking your options affects your credit before you apply — and our team walks you through it at your free consult.
What if insurance covers part of it?
We apply your benefit first, then finance only the remainder.
What about larger veneer cases?
Eight-to-ten-tooth cases can exceed a single plan's cap — we structure those across Cherry and HFD, or with a down payment, at your consult.

Composite Fillings · Downtown Boston

Fillings that disappear into your smile.

Tooth-colored composite restorations for cavities, chips, and worn edges — no metal, no dark spots.

Book your free consult

Composite fillings use a durable, tooth-colored resin that Dr. Jain shades to match your enamel, so the repair is invisible once it's done. They bond directly to the tooth, which means less drilling and more of your natural tooth preserved.

Most fillings are completed in a single visit, with local anesthetic and minimal downtime.

  • Mercury-free, tooth-colored material
  • Matched to your exact enamel shade
  • Usually done in one visit
  • Preserves more natural tooth than metal fillings

Crowns & Bridges · Downtown Boston

Restore what's damaged, replace what's missing.

Porcelain crowns protect and rebuild weakened teeth; fixed bridges close the gap a missing tooth leaves behind.

Book your free consult

A crown is a custom cap that restores a cracked, heavily filled, or root-canal-treated tooth to full strength and natural appearance. Crowns are made from several materials — all-porcelain and ceramic for the most natural look, zirconia for strength in back teeth, and porcelain-fused-to-metal or gold where durability matters most. Dr. Jain recommends the material based on which tooth it is, how much bite force it takes, and how visible it is when you smile. A bridge anchors a replacement tooth to its neighbors — a fixed, non-removable answer to a missing tooth.

Both are shaped and shaded to blend with your smile, typically over two visits while your custom porcelain is crafted.

  • Multiple materials — porcelain, ceramic, zirconia, or metal — chosen per tooth
  • Fixed in place — no removing, no adhesives
  • Restores full chewing strength
  • Typically complete in two visits

Dental Cleaning · Downtown Boston

The visit that keeps problems small.

Professional cleanings and exams, on a schedule that respects your workday.

Book your free consult

A professional cleaning removes the plaque and tartar your toothbrush can't, protects your gums, and gives Dr. Jain a chance to catch small problems before they become expensive ones. Most patients benefit from a cleaning and exam every six months.

Cleanings are typically covered by dental insurance — we verify your benefits before your visit.

  • Plaque and tartar removal, polish, and exam
  • Gum-health screening at every visit
  • Lunch-hour appointments
  • Typically covered by insurance

Deep cleaning: scaling and root planing (SRP)

When plaque and tartar build up below the gumline, a routine cleaning can't reach it — and the gums begin to pull away from the teeth, forming pockets that trap more bacteria. That's gum disease, and the treatment is a deep cleaning called scaling and root planing.

Scaling removes hardened deposits from the tooth surface and from under the gumline. Root planing then smooths the tooth roots so the gums can reattach cleanly and bacteria have less to cling to. It's done with the area numbed for comfort, usually across one or two visits, and is often followed by a maintenance schedule of more frequent cleanings.

Dr. Jain will measure your gum pockets at your exam and tell you honestly whether a routine cleaning is enough or a deep cleaning is warranted — it's not something we recommend by default.

Dental Implants · Downtown Boston

The permanent answer to a missing tooth.

A titanium post and porcelain crown that looks, feels, and works like the tooth you lost.

Book your free consult

A dental implant replaces the whole tooth, root and all: a biocompatible titanium post integrates with your jawbone, and a custom porcelain crown completes it. Unlike a bridge, an implant doesn't rely on neighboring teeth — and it preserves the bone that a missing tooth would otherwise lose.

Dr. Jain will assess your candidacy at a free consultation, including the bone support and timeline for your case.

  • Looks and functions like a natural tooth
  • Preserves jawbone and facial structure
  • No impact on neighboring healthy teeth
  • Decades of function with good care

Dentures · Downtown Boston

Comfortable, modern dentures & partials.

Full dentures and flexible removable partials — natural-looking replacements built around your comfort.

Book your free consult

Whether you're missing several teeth or a full arch, modern dentures are lighter, better-fitting, and far more natural-looking than the ones your parents knew. Flexible removable partials are an especially comfortable, affordable option when several teeth need replacing.

Dr. Jain designs each denture around your bite, your gumline, and the way you actually speak and eat.

  • Full and partial options, including flexible partials
  • An affordable path back to a confident smile
  • Designed for comfort, speech, and chewing
  • Adjusted until the fit is right

Retainers · Downtown Boston

Keep your new smile exactly where it belongs.

Custom retainers that protect the result you worked for — after Invisalign, braces, or any orthodontic treatment.

Book your free consult

Teeth drift for years after orthodontic treatment ends; a retainer is what makes your result permanent. We fabricate clear, comfortable retainers from a precise scan of your finished smile — and replace them quickly if one is lost or worn out.

Finished Invisalign somewhere else? We can scan and make your replacement retainer here downtown.

  • Clear, low-profile, comfortable
  • Made from a digital scan — no goopy impressions
  • Fast replacements when life happens
  • Protects your orthodontic investment

Clear vs. fixed retainers

Clear (removable) retainers are thin, transparent trays that fit over your teeth — essentially the final aligner in your series. You take them out to eat and clean them, and most patients wear them nightly after an initial full-time period. They're invisible in conversation and easy to replace, but they only work when you actually wear them.

Fixed (bonded) retainers are a thin wire bonded to the back of your front teeth, where no one sees it. It holds those teeth in place permanently with nothing to remember and nothing to lose — the trade-off is that flossing takes a threader, and the wire needs occasional checks to make sure it hasn't come loose.

Many patients do best with both: a fixed retainer on the lower front teeth, which drift the most, plus a clear retainer worn at night on top.

Night Guard · Downtown Boston

Protection from grinding, while you sleep.

A custom-fitted guard that shields your teeth and jaw from nighttime clenching and grinding (bruxism).

Book your free consult

Grinding wears enamel flat, cracks fillings, and wakes you with jaw pain and headaches — often without you knowing you do it. A custom night guard cushions the force, protecting your teeth and easing strain on the jaw joint.

Unlike boil-and-bite guards from the pharmacy, a custom guard is made from a scan of your teeth: slimmer, more comfortable, and actually wearable night after night.

  • Custom-fit from a digital scan
  • Protects enamel, fillings, veneers, and crowns
  • Eases jaw tension and morning headaches
  • Slim enough to sleep in comfortably

Composite Bonding · Cosmetic Dentistry

Small fixes, big difference.

Sculpted tooth-colored resin that repairs chips, closes small gaps, and reshapes edges — in a single visit.

Book your free consult

Composite bonding is the budget-friendly workhorse of cosmetic dentistry: Dr. Jain sculpts and polishes tooth-colored resin directly onto the tooth to fix a chip, close a small gap, or even out a worn edge. No lab, no waiting — you walk out the same day.

For bigger transformations, porcelain veneers last longer and resist stains better. At your free consult, Dr. Jain will tell you honestly which one your smile actually needs.

  • Single-visit treatment, immediate results
  • No drilling in most cases — enamel stays intact
  • The affordable alternative to veneers for small fixes
  • Natural finish, polished to match your enamel
